Hi! I’m Jackson. I’m an incoming PhD student in Political Science at Brown. I’m particularly interested in the nexus of decarbonization and sustained, equitable economic growth, particularly in green industrial policy and how we can do it better.
More broadly, I’m interested in public service and aspire to do all that I can to promote a more prosperous, sustainable, and optimistic world. I see increased public investment of all kinds as a key to getting there, and aspire to my life to promoting that however I can.
I grew up in Cambridge, MA and my experience of a dynamic, diverse city with a strong economy and significant housing shortage has significantly inspired me.
I’ve been fortunate to do a lot of (I think) cool things at the intersection of climate/housing/transit and the policy process. I enjoy environments that combine rigorous research with interpersonal interaction and impact on public policy in the near-term.
Outside of my academic interests, some people I’ve been particularly inspired by include William James (The Varieties of Religious Experience) and William Ellery Channing.
